A horrifying tiger attack has left a village in shock after a 72-year-old man was mauled near a forest area on Sunday morning.
The victim, Rameshwar Prasad, had gone to collect firewood near the outskirts of the forest in Balrampur district when the wild tiger suddenly attacked him. According to witnesses, the tiger leapt out of the bushes and launched a fierce assault before anyone could react.
Locals raised the alarm, and forest officials arrived quickly at the scene. Rameshwar was found critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors say his condition remains serious but stable.
This is the third tiger sighting in the area this month, sparking panic among villagers. In response, forest authorities have deployed a special team and installed camera traps to monitor the predator’s movements.
“This is a matter of great concern. We’re advising all villagers to stay away from forest zones,” said Forest Officer Vinod Kumar.
Experts blame habitat loss and lack of prey in the wild for the increasing human-animal conflict. The forest department has promised full support to the injured man and is intensifying efforts to locate and capture the tiger before it strikes again.
Tension continues to rise in the area as residents fear another potential attack.
